Developing A Growth Mindset
Day 2
Welcome to Day 2
In our previous video, we talked about the blind spot,
Today I want to give you a tip to rewire your brain.
I'm 36, I have been thinking a certain way for over 30 years, do I really believe that overnight, like that is going to disappear And I'm going to have a new mindset? No... but with practice, yes.
Practice doesn't make it perfect, practice makes it permanent. So I want you to just practice some new stuff if you really want to change,
You're going to show commitment and over time, things will start getting better.
For those of you who work out, or are football players or athletes in general or working out, you know, that when you start back it hurts. But if you don't go through the dumps, if you don't go through the pain, nothing's gonna be achievable.
So the state that you are in before restarting back, your sports session is going to is different than the state that you're going to be in. Once you're going to be into the river, the season, or your programs, working out program.
That's the same for your brain.
So from now, every single morning, when you do wake don't look at your phone for the first 30 minutes when you wake up,
Instead, I want you to find one thing, whether it's meditation, whether it's music (not on your phone), or whatever it is - talking to your kids, for those of you who are parents, I don't know what it's gonna be, I just want you to find one thing that you know that 100% of the time, that thing, will put a smile on your face.
That's my challenge.
Every day for 10 days, every single morning, before anything, you don't take your phone.
Start your day with one thing that puts you in a good mood to set your day. The first idea that you send to your brain has to be positive. The reason for that is if you send a negative message to your brain, ahead of you is going to be a negative day. I want you to tell yourself that it's going to be an amazing day as soon as you wake up.
Next, I need you to start writing affirmations. I want 10 positive affirmations from you. These 10 things that you're going to write down before touching your phone, I want you to read them out loud,
Let me recap.
Daily routine
- Wake up - Send a positive message to your brain first. Do something that going to put you in a good mood and don't pick up your phone for at least 30 minutes. Then, pull out a sheet of paper and read your 10 affirmations.
- Lunchtime (if you can) - read your 10 affirmations.
- Evening - Put your phone away, then I want you to read your affirmation, then you can go to bed, but don't get your phone back.
